FAQ
Everything you need to know about ordering custom, floating, laser-engraved boat keychains in bulk.
What’s the minimum order?
Our standard minimum is 50 keychains per design. Smaller keepsake runs are quoted case by case — tell us what you need and we’ll see what we can do.
Is there a maximum order size?
No. We handle runs into the tens of thousands for national dealer and fleet programs, with per-unit pricing dropping as quantity grows.
Can I order a sample before a bulk run?
Yes. We can produce a pre-production sample or proof so you can hold the wood, finish, and engraving before committing to a full run. Ask us for sample terms with your quote.
Can I mix shapes or woods in one order?
Yes. You can combine floats, buoys, anchors, life rings, name bars, and rope styles in one order to reach volume pricing — useful for retailers stocking a range.
Can I reorder later and match my last batch?
Yes. We keep your artwork, wood, finish, and engraving specs on file so a reorder matches your previous batch.
Do you charge for mockups?
No. Mockups are free with unlimited revisions until you approve the design. You only pay once production starts — there are no setup or art fees.
What artwork files do you need?
Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF) engrave the cleanest, but a high-resolution PNG or JPG works too. No print-ready file? Send a photo or sketch and our designers recreate it production-ready for free.
I don’t have a logo — can you help?
Yes. Our designers can build a clean, engraving-ready mark from a reference, a boat name, or a rough idea, included in the free mockup process.
Can you individually personalize each keychain?
Yes. Send a spreadsheet of boat names or owner names and we engrave each keychain individually — common for dealership handovers and wedding favors. Individual names cost no more than one repeated design.
How many revisions do I get?
Unlimited, and always free. We revise the mockup until you’re happy and only move to production once you approve.
Do the keychains really float?
Yes. Our floats are made from buoyant woods like teak and sized to stay at the surface with a standard split ring and one or two keys. If you run heavy fobs, tell us and we’ll size the float for the buoyancy you need.
Is the engraving really permanent?
Yes. We laser-engrave into the wood grain rather than printing on top, so there’s no ink layer to peel, chip, or fade — even after a season in a wet pocket or tackle bag.
What wood are the keychains made of?
Most are solid teak — a dense, oily, water-resistant hardwood that floats and engraves cleanly. We also offer walnut, maple, bamboo, and cork depending on the shape, look, and buoyancy you want.
How do I care for the keychains?
Very little is required. Wipe with a damp cloth and let air-dry; an occasional light coat of mineral or teak oil keeps the wood rich. Avoid prolonged soaking and harsh solvents.
How long does production take?
About two weeks from approved mockup. Timelines can vary with quantity and season; we’ll confirm a date with your quote.
Do you offer rush production?
Yes. Rush is available for firm boat-show or delivery dates. Tell us your in-hand date and we’ll tell you what’s possible.
Where do you ship?
Nationwide across the US, with international shipping available on request. See our Shipping Policy for details.
How much is shipping?
Shipping is quoted with your order based on quantity and destination. We’ll include it in the quote so there are no surprises.
Can you ship to multiple addresses?
Yes. Provide a distribution list with your order and we can split-ship to multiple locations — useful for multi-marina or multi-dealer programs.
What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?
We make it right. If an order arrives defective or doesn’t match your approved mockup, we remake or replace the affected pieces. This is a production guarantee, not a return — see our Return Policy.
How much do custom boat keychains cost?
Pricing is by quote and depends on quantity, shape, wood, and engraving. As a guide, typical bulk pricing runs about $3–$11 per unit; each product page shows its own range. A quote is the accurate number.
Why don’t you list exact prices?
Because the real number depends on quantity, shape, wood, and decoration. A quick quote gives you accurate pricing for your exact order rather than a misleading flat rate.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit cards, plus PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We can also invoice with ACH or a PO for established dealerships and businesses.
Do you offer a lowest-price guarantee?
Yes. If you have a comparable quote for the same custom wood keychain, send it over and we’ll do our best to beat it.
